Dr. Askew grew up in southern Illinois and always wanted to be a veterinarian. She started her career as a teen working for her hometown vet. After high school, she attended Illinois Wesleyan University where she earned her BA in Biology and graduated with honors. She then went on to the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. At the U of I, she earned her BS with honors in Veterinary Medicine and then her DVM degree with honors in 1998. Dr. Askew moved to the south suburbs of Chicago after graduation. She worked at two small animal hospitals before relocating to the far west suburbs in 2005. In 2010, Dr. Askew fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening her own veterinary hospital. She continues to enjoy medicine, surgery and developing strong relationships with her clients and patients. When she is not at work, Dr. Askew spends time with her husband Craig and children Dalton, Carter and Delilah. They currently share their home with dogs Ripley, Silas and a Great Dane Puppy( Name to be determined .) Also an opinionated paint pony named Suzuki .Dr. Askew also enjoys movies, reading, cooking and the outdoors.
